Sacred Heart and Mine in Holy Communion

The Sacred Heart and Mine in Holy Communion is a wonderful set of brief meditations on the titles of the Sacred Heart, suitable for Communion or visits to the Blessed Sacrament.  Sister Mary Philip entered the Bar Convent in 1905, during Mother Mary Loyola’s tenure there as Mistress of Novices.   She seems to have followed in her mentor’s footsteps, producing over a dozen well-researched books, with a special affection for the Sacred Heart.  While presenting each meditation with the help of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque’s writings, the overall feel shows the clear influence of Mother Loyola’s writing style.
