Rev. Walter J. Schmitz, S.S., S.T.D. and revised by Fr. Justin Nolan, FSSP.

This is the revised version of Learning the Mass, a “how to” book for priests and seminarians. The purpose of this present work is to give the priest or seminarian a useful and easy reference for learning the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Latin Rite in faithful conformity to the rubrical prescriptions of the liturgical books of 1962 and according to the directives of the recently issued Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum of Pope Benedict XVI. It is also strongly recommended that the priest have an Ordo and study The Celebration of Mass for interpreting the finer details of Rubrics of the Roman Breviary and Missal and Ritus Servandis & De Defectibus, which are essential for every priest to know before offering the traditional rite.
