?How to Serve the Latin Mass? is a 40 minute video available on DVD that provides thorough instructions and examples for serving the low Mass of the Extraordinary Use of the Latin Rite. Also included on the DVD is a section on learning names of Sacred Vessels and other objects used for Holy Mass. Included in the DVD sleeve is an Altar Card that servers can use to assist them at Mass.
?How to Serve the Latin Mass? was filmed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the beautiful Holy Family Cathedral. The diocese of Tulsa has been honored for many years to have the Fraternity of St. Peter, a fraternity of priests instituted by Pope John Paul II, ordained to celebrate the Tridentine Latin Mass. Part of the proceeds of this video will go to support the Parish of St. Peter, an apostolate of the Fraternity of St. Peter located in Tulsa.
In July 2007, Pope Benedict XVI issued his Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum, in which he stated that the Latin Mass must be allowed by Bishops, and may be celebrated by any Catholic priest in any parish, especially when a desire for the Latin Mass has been expressed by the faithful of the local parish. Since that time it has become of greater importance to understand the role, not only of priests, but of the altar server in the Extraordinary Use of of the Latin Rite.
Purchasing ?How to Serve the Latin Mass? will be of great benefit to priests, altar servers, and parishes that are experiencing, or would like to experience, the revival of the Extraordinary Use of the Latin Rite in their own parish.
